What is yerba mate?Yerba Mate is a plant primarily grown in the pampas region of South America comprising the south of Brazil, Uruguay, and Argentina. For generations Yerba Mate has been consumed by cattle workers, gauchos, who worked long hours. Yerba Mate also contains a family of molecules that have energy giving properties, including caffeine. We do not use caffeine extracts in Tche. When you drink Tche, you are consuming whole plants with all of their corresponding vitamins, fiber, caffeine and antioxidant molecules.

What is guarana?Guarana is a plant found in the Amazon basin, among other places in South America. It has been used for generations by indigenous Brazilians for its energy giving properties. Guarana contains a family of molecules related to caffeine and thus has a stimulating effect.

How was tche invented?Tche was created by cardiac surgeon Dr. Fabio Sagebin and his wife. Together they innovated ingredients and iterated over 18 months before coming up with the final formula. Learn more in our "About" page.

What does it taste like?We have two flavors of Tche, Terra and Verde. Tche Terra contains cocoa, acai, and cinnamon and tastes like cinnamon hot chocolate. Verde contains peppermint and Cupuaçu and tastes smooth and fresh with a peppermint kick.

Where do you get your ingredients?The main ingredients in Tche come from farms in Brazil. We also source peppermint from farms in Egypt.

Does it have protein?Tche contains taurine, an amino acid which is a building block of protein. However, its function is that of neuro modulation and not muscle building.

Is it organic?The main ingredients of Tche are organically sourced from our partners in South America and come from farms in the amazon and the pampas of southern Brazil.

Is it vegan?Because Tche contains high quality collagen, it is not vegan. Collagen is made by recycling by-products from beef processing manufacturers. We respect people who choose not to consume animal-derived products. We also believe that responsible recycling of animal by-products does not drive their demand.

Does it spoil? What is the shelf life?Because Tche contains live probiotics, it is best if consumed within one year of manufacture.

Can I drink it with any health/heart conditions?Tche comes in three caffeine concentrations. Tche-140, the strongest formulation, contains the same amount of caffeine as a cup of coffee or a mid-level energy drink. The other ingredients in Tche provide a health benefit and do not pose additional risk. However, if you are sensitive to stimulants or have been told by your doctor to stay away from caffeine or coffee, please consult with them before using Tche.

Can I drink it pregnant?The strongest formulation of Tche, Tche-140, contains about as much caffeine as a large cup of coffee or an energy drink. According to the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, pregnant or breast feeding women should limit their caffeine consumption to less than 200mg per day. Please consult with your doctor before consuming Tche.

Where are you based?Tche was proudly created in San Clemente, Southern California. Our base of operations and design remains in San Clemente. However manufacturing takes place primarily in Utah.

How do I drink/make it?Tche may be consumed either warm or cold. Preparing Tche warm does, however, decrease the efficacy of the probiotic. To enjoy Tche, add one or two scoops to one or two cups of your favorite liquid (water, milk, a little of both).

Tche is the ultimate supplement. It was created by our founder who is a board certified cardiothoracic surgeon. It primarily provides sustaining energy from two kinds of plant based caffeine, Yerba Mate, and Guarana. It also contains a complete multivitamin, taurine, omega 3 and 6 fatty acids, plant-based fiber, a clinical dose of collagen and a clinical dose of probiotic as well as a super large amount of antioxidants. It's not just a yerba mate energy drink, it's a health staple.
It gives you a tangible boost and tastes awesome. It comes in two different flavors, Terra (cocoa-cinammon-acai) and Verde (peppermint cupuacu). Both contain all of the active ingredients mentioned above. It also comes in three different caffeine strengths.
